Seacom have obtained the necessary permits for its repair vessel to travel to the repair site. Seacom`s repair vessel should arrive on-site as soon as 30 April 2017.
The Seacom Sub-sea Cable service outage located in the Red Sea, west of Djibouti was confirmed on 11 April 2017.
SEACOM stated that they had "continued to activate additional diverse restoration capacity to its network today, meaning almost all customers requesting manual restoration now have it".
"SEACOM has also augmented its managed services platform with additional links so as to alleviate congestion and improve latency", it said.
The repairs could be completed as early as 02 May 2017 but this is "largely dependent on weather and other sea conditions".
